What is Thigh Lift?
Thigh Lift surgery is a body contouring procedure performed at our Scottsdale clinic to reshape the upper legs by tightening sagging skin around the thighs. Thigh lift surgery is a great procedure for individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight, and now have leftover, loose skin in the thighs and buttocks region.
At Plastic Surgery Scottsdale, Dr. Golger can perform several different types of thigh lift procedures, including
- Inner Thigh Lift
- Bilateral Thigh Lift
- Medial Thigh Lift
These different techniques target excess skin and fatty tissues in separate areas of the thigh and involve different incision patterns as well. The medial thigh lift, for instance, involves incisions in the groin fold. This procedure is sufficient when the patient has excess skin and fat that is localized to the upper thigh or upper medial thigh.
In patients who have had massive weight loss, however, a vertical incision along the inner thigh will likely produce greater improvement. This technique may be appropriate for a post-bariatric surgery patient for instance, who may have a large amount of loose skin extending down the inner thigh to the knee. In this procedure, the resultant scar is more visible than the horizontal excision in the bikini area. However, the tradeoff of removing more skin and getting a better mid and lower thigh contour is often worth it for the patient with extreme amounts of loose skin.
Without actually being examined by a board-certified plastic surgeon, it is difficult to determine exactly which type of thigh lift or saddle lift procedure would best suit your individual needs.
