How Many Appointments Will I Need?

You will need to attend 4 to 6 appointments in total. The first two are consultation and surgery. Then, you will need to attend post-operation appointments to get your stitches removed and make sure your healing and recovery are going according to plan.

How Long Until I See Results?

What to Expect on the Day of Chin Implant Surgery

Your chin implant surgery will take place at our beautiful office in sunny Scottsdale. When you arrive, you will check in and then be led to our operating room, where you will go over the procedure again and answer any remaining questions.

To begin, you will be given anesthesia to ensure you are comfortable and pain-free. Dr. Golger will then create an incision below your chin or inside your mouth. Next, he’ll create a pocket for the implant and place it above the chin bone. When it’s safely secured, Dr. Golger will close the incisions and cover your chin with bandages. The procedure typically takes an hour or more to complete, especially if you combine it with other procedures. You can return home the same day.

Chin Implant Recovery

The recovery period for a chin implant typically takes around one week. Some mild swelling and pain are expected, and you’ll hardly see any bruising. Dr. Golger will supply you with prescribed pain medication to help manage any discomfort. We recommend a diet consisting of soft or liquid foods for the first few days, as your chin and jaw will be tender.

While you rest and sleep, avoid sleeping on your stomach or side to prevent pressure on the incisions or movement of the implant. Our Scottsdale patients are typically able to return to their regular exercise routines 3 to 4 weeks after their surgery.
